At the office

Educat’s office in Kigali is located in a neighbourhood called Kisimenti in the Remera area. It is about twenty five minutes from the house in Nyamirambo, and ten minutes from the city centre.

Educat shares offices with our partner organization YES-Rwanda with whom we also greatly enjoy being colleagues.

Much work naturally takes place at the office, where we often enjoy our wonderful garden, and many external meetings are held as well. As in some parts of the business environment in Denmark, in Rwanda appearance matters. For this reason and with the aim of maintaining a professional profile, Educat has a dress code policy.

At the office this simply means a button-down shirt and some nice pants for the guys. At external meetings in general and official meetings at the office, guys wear suit and a tie, and girls wear business dress.

A small NB is that “you can tell a man by his shoes” is practiced to a high degree, so do yourself a favour and bring a nice pair of shoes that can stand the wear and tear of sand and rubble.

Finally a presentable bag or attaché case is a good idea for the meetings.
