Getting ready to go
Before you get on the plane to come deep south and contribute to the cause of Educat in Rwanda, there are a lot of things you need to have prepared.
This range from packing the proper items you might need if you want to go trek in a rainforest, having got the necessary vaccines and treatments from your doctor, to bringing a print-out of the confirmation email from the Immigration Office to present when you go through customs at the Kigali International Airport.
Malaria
The last stuff for the suit case
As you probably know, Rwanda is located in a temperate climate. It is usually around 20-25 degrees centigrade – also at night. It is mostly sunny but there is also a decent amount of rain – during the same day... So along with the flip flops and the swim suit, if you want to visit the pool at Hotel des Milles Collins, it's a good idea to bring some practical clothes, if you would like to go for a trip during the weekends. Maybe to trek in the rainforests at Musanze to see the mountain gorillas?
And even though the nice business shoes are important, do not forget your dancing shoes for a night out at Papyrus or dancing the real African style at Mangaroca.
Bug repellent
Bug repellent
Kigali has a lot of musquitos so at night, it can be a good idea to bring and use bug repellent on uncovered surfaces of your skin.
If you have additional questions, you are more than welcome
to contact any of the people who have or who still are working with Educat for further information.
